Dr. Treacy Adamo earned her bachelors of science degree in biology from Northern Illinois University. She continued there to achieve her masters of science in human anatomy and used this training to teach human anatomy, general biology, and human biology.
Changing careers, Dr. Adamo attended the Illinois College of Optometry as a Board of Trustees Scholar. She participated as a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Fraternity and Tomb and Key Honor Fraternity.
Graduating cum laude, Dr. Adamo continued her training in ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation at the Jesse Brown Veteran Administration Medical Center in Chicago and at the Hines Veteran Administration Medical Center. Additionally, she has received her advanced competency in medical optometry certification by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Adamo previously provided low vision rehabilitation services at Midwest Eye Professionals. She is also the Assistant Chief of Optometry at the Adam Benjamin Jr. VA outpatient clinic, in Crown Point, Indiana and serves as an adjunct clinical instructor for the Illinois College of Optometry.
Dr. Adamo is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and past president of the Illinois state chapter of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Adamo serves the organization on the Admissions Committee. She also volunteers for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry as an examiner.
Dr. Adamo lives in Hinsdale with her husband and four children.
